This guide takes you through the process of signing up to the MyBandSite service.
Click the Sign Up! link to sign upto the service, and you will be presented with a form asking for various bits of information. You will need:
Click Create Account and you will be sent an email.
In the email you have received will by a link to a web page. Click this link and you will activate your account and be asked to login.
Note
You must login using your username and short site name at this point. For the example given above, this will be asmith_rcb. The password is the one you entered on the signup page.
At this point you will also be sent an email that details your new url and confirms that your account has been activated. You are then taken to a page where you can pay for the MyBandSite service.
Payment is taken by PayPal subscription, where you can pay using a paypal account or by using a credit or debit card.
You can elect to pay monthly or yearly. If paying monthly, then this process will set up 12 monthly payments. If you pay yearly, then one payment is taken and you will not need to pay again until twelve months in the future. There is a small discount for paying yearly over monthly.
Once your payment has been taken, you will be presented with a screen on which you can pick an initial default style for your site.
Note
This initial style is only intended to get you started. It is fully expected that you will replace this with something more specific to your band in the near future. The tutorial covers this, but you will need to have some basic html knowledge to do this yourself. For those without this knowledge, we offer a styling service in which we will create a basic style for you for a one off fee.
Select the style by using the links to the left of the preview. Once you are happy, click on the Apply This Style link to be taken to the control panel.
The Control Panel allows you to configure several settings for your site. It does now allow you to enter information displayed on the site, this is done using the Admin Site.
For now, don’t change anything in the control panel, but continue to the Tutorial where you will be taken through the initial steps to set up your site and learn how to use it.
